'Transformers' Human Cast Cut From 'Transformers 4'.
A "source" close to production on Transformers 4 has revealed that director Michael Bay has realised that the movie needs to "be like the last hour" of Dark Of The Moon, and that the film is going to be both a reboot and a sequel (a requel?) that continues on from DotM, only with a whole new cast of humans. Actor Josh Duhamel also confirmed to E! that he has been cut and doesn't think any of the franchise's previous humans will be returning either. "I don't think anybody's doing it," he said. "I know Shia [Labouef's] not doing it."
'John Carter 2' Already Being Worked On.
ComingSoon have talked with Jim Morris, the producer of Disney's upcoming big-budget sci-fi adventure John Carter, who confirmed that work has already begun on a sequel, despite the fact the movie isn't out until March. He revealed that director Andrew Stanton and writer Michael Chabon are both planning the sequel now and that is has a working title of John Carter: Gods Of Mars.
Oprah Returning To The Big Screen?
The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that talk show host Oprah Winfrey has been offered a co-starring role in The Butler. The film, which will be directed by Lee Daniels (Precious), is about Eugene Allen an African-american who worked as a butler in the White House from 1952 through to 1986 and serving eight presidents.
Zorro Reboot Now Has Star. And Futuristic New Direction. Wait, What?
Variety are reporting that The Motorcycle Diaries star Gael Garcia Bernal has been cast in the lead of Zorro Reborn, the upcoming reboot of the Zorro franchise. They also bring the news that the action will be transplanted from Zorro's usual stomping ground of Mexico and will instead take place in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Oh, and Zorro is no longer a hero type. He is now "a masked vigilante bent on revenge.". So, they called this Zorro why exactly?
Bateman Has Baby Girl.
And ending the week's news on an "awww"... Juno star Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda Anka have had a baby girl, which they have named Maple Sylvie.
Today In I'll Call You Back: I'm just real busy moving the plot forward right now, I'll have to call you back...
Today In Trivia: Robert Rodriguez was originally down to direct 1998's The Mask Of Zorro but left the project after the studio disagreed with his violent, R-rated proposal.
Today's Bad Movie Tagline: The tagline for the Josh Duhamel's 2006 horror/thriller Turistas: "Go Home". As it's a Friday afternoon, don't mind if I do.
Happy Birthday! To former Bond girl and Wild Things star Denise Richards, who is 40 today.
