New Team For 'Mission: Impossible 4'

September 2nd 2010. Andrew Hedley, Flicks.co.nz New Team For 'Mission: Impossible 4'

Despite Tom Cruise's questionable pulling power, the fourth Mission: Impossible installment is going ahead, under the watch of Brad Bird (director of the fantabulous Ratatouille, The Incredibles and The Iron Giant).

An addition to the team is Jeremy Renner.  Tipped to be a potential replacement for Cruise in future missions, the Oscar-nominated star of The Hurt Locker has found his fortunes favoured, both with a role as Ethan Hunt (Cruise)'s accomplice in this, plus the role of Hawkeye in Marvel's comicbook ensemble adventure, The Avengers.

The newest announcement (via Deadline) is Paula Patton, whowill be playing a young operative who works as part of the M:I team. Patton was last seen in Precious.

The film will not actually be called Mission: Impossible 4, as it is envisaged as a franchise reboot. Also aboard are Simon Pegg as Benji, and Ving Rhames as Luther.
