TT: Closer To The EdgeAlso available on Blu-Ray

Documentary on the 2010 Isle of Man TT motorcycle race: "the most treacherous and gruelling course in the world".

Narrated by actor/musician Jared Leto (Lord of War, frontman of 30 Seconds to Mars), this follows TT racers' reckless dedication in their bid to become 'King of the Mountain' and examines what motivates these rare, elite drivers. Racing along public roads on bikes just inches apart – with speeds hitting 200mph – drama, tension and tragedy all combine. Motorsport stars feature, including Guy Martin, John McGuinness (15 time TT winner) and Conor Cummins.

TT: Closer to the Edge marked the year anniversary of the death of Kiwi rider Paul Dobbs who died competing in the race, while the documentary was being shot.

Do not reccommend this in 3d. 3d adds nothing to it. It was never filmed for 3d. You would think the action shots would make the most of 3d, but no its the sit down interviews that use the 3d the most. Otherwise it was a great doco. Unexpected moments of comedy stop it from being to serious.

The speeds on such narrow, winding public roads are hair-raising and superbly photographed, the crashes spectacular and the riders far more likable than anyone involved in Formula One.

A fascinating look not only into a sport but into the psyches of those who are prepared to lay down their lives for it.
